Well it doesn’t have to be on a boat. It’s just that I have found over 40+ years of spending time on and around the UK canals that the combination of the slower pace (you can’t go faster than 4mph), the fresh air and the physical exercise walking the towpath and working the locks gives you time to think.
You can forget about some of your day to day concerns and think about the longer term, your bigger picture, your vision for what you want in the future. And that is precisely what coaching focuses on.
I have had several clients who have benefited from spending some time outside of an office environment when working on what they want to achieve next.
It doesn’t have to be on a boat, anywhere we can have our conversations whilst walking will work just fine.
